hello everybody. i lied when i said this would be updated every couple of days..it was a little ambitious. and theres not a whole lot new about me not following through!
anyway. we played a show last night and it kind of sucked. we sounded like shit and there were all these old people there. it was awkward. but paradise hills rocked the shit out of that place and the girl from one way letter is pretty cute. and big city dreams..they're cool dudes. i shared the wonders of san francisco with their drummer, it was good times.
anyway, we took promos today. or..i took promos today. me and the most amazing photographer ever, who just somehow happens to be steves roommate. you can check them out on our myspace. but then again if youre reading this you were probably already on our myspace. nevermind.
the pictures look really good...tom is a fucking genius. if any of you bands out there want promos or liveshots, talk to the man tom tang...he is now in our top8. he charges $300 for normal work but if he likes you something can be worked out.
anyway. i've been living at steves for a week since i moved out of usf...i made myself a fort where i sleep under their living room table..its pretty fuckin sweet. for the last 2 days i have been sitting in front of a television letting the before mentioned wonders do their thing and get the fuck out of my system. but literally..2 entire days in front of a tv. me and tom have killed the entire first season of the o.c. on dvd since yesterday afternoon, and i gotta tell you i'm kinda hooked. marissa is my lady...and i gotta say, those kids fucking glow..and they never wear the same outfit twice, and the whole fucking thing is one big ad for everything that is timewarner.....jamba juice, rooney, panda express, death cab for cutie...i'm too tired to even think of the rest of them but there are SOO MANY and its so shameless and the one thing all of the food/bands/brands they pimp are ALL OWNED BY THE SAME FUCKING COMPANY. its genius. hyper commercialism at its best. but hey they have me by the balls.
i am going to sleep. i'll try to update this more often, or something. i'm coming home tomorrow. all you better be ready for june 9th cause its gonna be off the hook yo

so i watched SAW 2 last night and it was FUCKING GNARLY. i've been avoiding seeing those movies because i knew they would scare me way too much...i knew those pictures would creep into my brain and haunt me forever. so now when i'm laying in my bed trying to go to sleep i get to think about seeing things like a dude having 1 minute to cut his own eye out to get a key to unlock the beartrap set firmly on his head before it snaps and violently cuts his head off. and that scene had nothing to do with the movie! but seriously. it was not cool. but i couldnt stop watching it.

but i've known about those movies and there was always something that stopped me from watching them. kinda like i knew there were just things that i shouldnt fuck with for my own good because of their truly disturbing nature and my susceptibility to being truly disturbed. i remember when were were recording 'i shot out every light in town' brian and tanner and brandon watched saw 1 in the studio and i was like f that shit. no way jose. and now tanner is in underminded! if i could play drums i would want to be in underminded too. too bad they're not coming up here cause i would wreck shop

anyway our next show is MAY 6TH at THE EGG in San Francisco, califorNIA bitches. its with OF HEARTS AND SHADOWS (rep hard san diego), MAKANDA (instrumental ROCKROCK) and some other bands. i'm also trying to get this guy i know named ty to grace us with some of his superrr BLUEZY riffs. this dude writes some songs for sure.

and we've got 2 new songs that are pretty much completely done, including criss cross, and 2 more that are shaping up to be really sweet too. they've all got their fair share of rock. actually more than a fair share of rock, i would say.

ps. this is the only place i will update/write/talk from now on. myspace aint very great for this kinda stuff.

my name is james clelland and this is my newly created online journal. not like a journal in the way that i could pretend like it was really a journal and i could write in it and have it not be open to the entire world to read, but more in the way like if you care to know what i'm doing with my life and are interested in following with me the exchanges and daily happenings that change and shape the way i view and treat the world (and myself)...then here ya go. if i've learned anything its to WRITE IT DOWN. today might have been a wasted day, but if you don't care to think why and hold yourself accountable for YOUR responsibility in YOUR wasted day, the chances of you doing it the next day are pretty high..and the next day..and the next day..
but it takes so much effort to think about it. and figure it out. and write it down. and remember. and plan how to change it. and then actually do it. its HARD. i'm not miserable. just pretty bored and pretty demoralized.

as for the band and all of you...sorry about the cancelled shows, believe me, its not our fault...i can promise you that we would have liked to play them. its kind of ironic that i happen to be writing this now and the second cancelled show was supposed to be tonight, but hey. shit happens. it doesnt mean we dont love you, circumstance is just a bitch sometimes. i can assure you we are in the process of getting some sweet shows put together, and for once we'll actually sound really good...so we'll make it up to you.
